"There are two ways of exerting one's strength: one is pushing down, the other is pulling up."

Studio 805 - The Art of Brenden Sanborn

A cool summer day
Crisp air strokes my hair
Chills through my body

I sit with you by my side
Looking into the horizon
Wondering what lies beyond

Hands play
In the granulated sand
Minds recall childhood memories
We talk about our problems
Dreams, goals

We tell each other how much
We appreciate this friendship
I can feel your warmth
Your devotion

Take a walk along the beach
Cold water tickles my toes
Naked feet disrupt
Cold damp sand
Alive. Free.
No words

Moment is there
I look over to you
Feel your thoughts
A swift smile in acknowledgment
Still looking ahead

Thoughts cascading
Through mind
You stop and turn
Eyes meet the water
Quietly,

“This is a symbol of our friendship.
The ocean’s depth out to different
Shores and people of this world.”

Your turn
Look

“for us it is the world and beyond.”
